The seven new buildings being constructed this year with just over 200 apartments and at least 20 new business spaces will have a profound effect on what we offer customers, who shops in our district and how they get there. Division Clinton received a grant from Venture Portland to do a marketing survey of our neighbors as well as a strategic plan for DCBA’s future. The neighborhood survey will be online, in some businesses on Division, and at the street fair in July. Dates and details are coming soon.
The D Street Village building at 30th and Division is still on track to open in June. It’s the new windows on the East wal, while admitting much needed daylight, have broken up the mura.l
Fifty Licks Ice Cream is opening at 2021 SE Clinton in June across the street from Compote and Zenanna Spa. 954-294-8868.
Ex Libris Anonymous moved from 41st and Division to Belmont and Pine Street Biscuits is moving from Belmont to the Ford building on Division. They plan to open in mid May.
Equipment is being parked at 28th and Division, a sure sign the redevelopment of Division is soon to begin. The utilities will start securing their pipes and cables. A quick method of tracking activity is the color of the markings sprayed on the street. The utilities use red for electric lines, yellow for gas and oil, orange for communications, and blue for water. White is for proposed excavation and green marks sewer and drain lines. Planning for the July 27th Street Fair has begun. The vendor application form is on our website, www.divisionclinton.com. The theme this year is “Celebrate Change”.
