Time to spruce up your building? Bob Schatz of AllUSA Architecture at 2811 SE Division says that PDC’s Storefront Improvement Program is offering businesses up to $20,000 if they spend $40,000 (owner pays half) on construction costs to improve their storefronts. This includes paint, windows, signage, awnings and lighting. PDC also pays Bob $1,850, which usually gets a floor plan of the storefront before and after, the new façade elevation and the necessary permit. This program used to be just for Urban Renewal areas, but now is available to all commercial land in Portland. Bob says, “This really is a great deal, I get paid, the owner gets work done at half price, and a contractor gets a job. And to top it off the money the owner receives is a tax free grant.” Contact Bob Schatz at 503.235.8585.
