The Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers is confirmed! They will lead the parade that begins our annual street fair. Information and vendor applications are available just below this article. The fair is July 25th.
Bearly Worn, at 50th and Division, is offering warehouse sales every Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm. It is a small space, allowing only ten people at a time. Items are $3 apiece.
When it opens, Clothesbaux.com, 4908 SE Division, will be a hybrid business – part online and part retail. Customers can select items on the web and have them shipped or try on the clothing at the store. Appointments are 12pm-6pm, Monday through Friday.
Ease closed its doors May 15th.
Oscar Albert, the Wine Bar . Garden Nursery . Bottle Shop at 4847 SE Division, is serving fabulous Paninis and Staccato Gelato. In June, Oscar Albert’s hours extend to 10pm Thursday – Saturday with live Latin guitar music on Saturday nights starting at 6:30pm!
The Bhaktishop Yoga Center, at 2500 SE 26th, is a true community center, in as many ways as possible. They have 3 classes every week that are either free or by donation, and one class every day that is only eight bucks! On the fifth of every month all classes, all day are only $5 too. Every second Sunday from 6-8pm, they hold a call-and-response singing and chanting. All donations go to a local community member or organization.
The Academy of Kung Fu’s community outreach program, Kung Fu Outreach, is completing their after-school programs at both Lewis Elementary and Winterhaven School. Next week the ladies of Kung Fu Outreach will be running self-defense seminars with students of Girl’s Inc. at Boise Eliot and Lane Middle Schools. Kung Fu Outreach is always looking to give back to the community, and open to working with any variety of youth and adults to help promote a lifelong love of movement. Two of the student groups at Cadenza Academy are performing at Berbati’s Pan on Friday, June 5th. The show starts at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $7 at the door and $5 in advance. The groups are performing original material.
Bara Sushi House on 21st off Clinton is now open for lunch, operating as a Noodle House specializing in Ramen noodles. Sushi will not be served until 5pm.
Zenanna Rose at 21st and Clinton is offering the Ultimate Dad’s Day Out, a massage, back facial, pedicure, and lunch or the Real Men’ Retreat, a massage and pedicure.
The controversy over renaming 39th Avenue continues. The City Council will hear testimony in June.
