Division Gets a Tiny Community Garden

There’s a new green space in the neighborhood, and its impact far outweighs its size. The “tiny community garden” outside Artifact Creative Recycle is the creation of Artifact’s owner, Leah Meijer, and their resident “plant guru,” Joshua Ryan. The garden is more than just a decorative show of flowers, though. The herbs, veggies and assorted plants are meant to nourish and build community. Hungry? Pick a pepper. Have some edible plants to donate? Add them to the community garden.

With an eye toward helping their houseless neighbors, Artifact’s new garden shows off their dedication to the community. Meanwhile, the array of colors and smells adds something fresh, unique and beautiful to Division Street. Meijer would like to see more gardens pop up in the neighborhood, too. If you’re curious how to get started, email us or get in touch directly with Artifact. For more info on Artifact’s tiny community garden, read their blog.
